Reverse video. Play your clip backwards or as a boomerang, free.

Drop in a clip, pick reverse or boomerang, and it comes back in your chat. It runs on Treza's FFmpeg node, which costs nothing.

The same effects on other footage

Each one is the FFmpeg node's own output, from the same command the button sends.

How it works

  1. 01

    Drop in a clip

    Any video from a phone or a camera. No footage? Switch to "Make it for me" and write one line about the shot.

  2. 02

    Pick reverse or boomerang

    Reverse, boomerang or a boomerang loop. Every clip on this page is real output of the command your file gets.

  3. 03

    Sign in and it runs

    Google sign-in, then the result appears in your chat, usually within a couple of minutes. Free: the FFmpeg node costs nothing.

What the button sends

Each option is one FFmpeg filter chain, run by Treza's FFmpeg node on your file: the reverse filter, on the whole clip or on its opening seconds joined to the original.

Reverse
setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,reverse

Sound: -af "areverse"

Boomerang
trim=duration=3,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,split[f][b];[b]reverse,trim=start_frame=1,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS[r];[f][r]concat=n=2:v=1:a=0

Sound: left out (-an)

Boomerang loop
trim=duration=1.5,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS,split[f][b];[b]reverse,trim=start_frame=1,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS[r];[f][r]concat=n=2:v=1:a=0,split=3[t1][t2][t3];[t2]trim=start_frame=1,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS[u2];[t3]trim=start_frame=1,setpts=PTS-STARTPTS[u3];[t1][u2][u3]concat=n=3:v=1:a=0

Sound: left out (-an)

For a video the chain goes into -i {input} -vf "<chain>,format=yuv420p" -c:v libx264 -crf 20 -preset medium <sound> -movflags +faststart {output}. <sound> is the row's sound setting.

Reverse video, answered

Is reversing a video on Treza free?

Yes. It runs on the FFmpeg node, which costs nothing; an account with no credits can run it ten times a day. Having the footage generated instead of uploading it is priced like any clip, about $0.28 for a four second one.

What is the difference between reverse and boomerang?

Reverse plays your whole clip backwards, last frame first. Boomerang plays the first three seconds forward and then backward, so the motion goes out and comes back. Boomerang loop does that with the first second and a half, three times in a row.

Does the sound play backwards too?

With Reverse, yes: the sound is reversed along with the picture, so speech turns into the familiar backwards gibberish. The boomerangs leave the sound out, because it would jump at every turn; add music to the result in chat.

Which part of my clip does the boomerang use?

The start. Boomerang takes the first three seconds and Boomerang loop the first second and a half, so trim your clip to begin on the moment you want to bounce. Reverse uses the whole clip.

How long can my clip be?

Short clips work best, because reversing holds every frame in memory. A long 4K file can run out of room, and chat says so when it does; trim it first. Keep a file under 25 MB here; longer footage can be uploaded in chat directly.

What formats can I upload?

MP4, MOV, WebM and the usual phone formats. The result comes back as an MP4 at your clip's own size and frame rate.
